A 20-year-old student studying electrical engineering and computer science named Angela Samota was discovered dead in her off-campus apartment in 1984. She was stabbed 18 times and passed away as a result of heart-related injuries to her chest.
Little did Angela Samota know that on October 12, 1984, when she went to the State Fair with her friends Russell Buchanan and Anita Kadala, she would come home only to be brutally killed.
Angela visited her lover later that evening after leaving the fair late. When she got home that evening, a man knocked on her door and asked to use the phone and the restroom. Ben, Angela’s boyfriend, claimed that she had contacted him to tell him about the man and made a commitment to call again. But that didn’t take place. Ben went to see her out of concern and discovered her brutally killed in her bed.
Angela’s lover Ben McCall, her friend Russell Buchanan, and one of the ex-boyfriends were the main suspects in the murder investigation. However, it was determined during the investigation that Angela’s attacker was a “non-secretor.” This eliminated Russell, a 23-year-old architect who lives close to Angela’s home, as well as Ben and the ex-boyfriend from the list of suspects.
