It’s a new week, and you know what that means? There’s a brand new conservative guest host on The View. This week, we’ll be getting a controversial brand of guest host: former Trump staffer Morgan Ortagus. Will moderator Whoopi Goldberg finally be forced to say the name of “he who shall not be named” while the panel grills the former spokesperson? We’ll have to find out during today’s taping.
Chaos reigned last week on The View after sports broadcaster Michele Tafoya joined the panel. After the guest host defended anti-vaxxers, ripped critical race theory, and nearly got booed off the stage, it seems like the panelists could use a bit of a breather. Still, having a member of Trump’s team doesn’t seem like it’ll give them that break. But as The View hunts to replace conservative host Meghan McCain, they’re going to need to test out a few eggs that might turn out rotten.
What can we expect from this new guest host? Here’s everything you need to know about Morgan Ortagus.
Who is Morgan Ortagus, the new guest co-host of The View?
Morgan Ortagus is a financial analyst and political advisor best known for serving as spokesperson for the United States Department of State from 2019 to 2021 under former President Donald Trump. We all know how the panel feels about Trump, so this may be an interesting stint with the new guest host.
Ortagus has little background in TV or broadcast journalism. Her career is filled with politics, having worked on Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign, under the George W. Bush administration, and even the Obama administration. The political figure did, however, work for a bit as a contributor and Republican strategist on the Fox News Channel, appearing on Fox & Friends, Outnumbered, The Five, and Mornings with Maria.
Is Morgan Ortagus the permanent replacement for Meghan McCain?
Nope. There’s no permanent replacement for McCain quite yet, as The View is taking a little time to find someone to fill her chair.
How long will Morgan Ortagus be a co-host on The View?
Ortagus will be co-hosting The View for just two days this week, beginning today and continuing into tomorrow’s (Nov. 9) episode.
When will The View announce the new permanent host? The View hosting schedule:
At the moment, we have no idea when The View will announce the host that’ll snag the third slot permanently. We’ve seen folks like S.E. Cupp, Eboni K. Williams, and even Cindy McCain perform well in the position, so it could be any of them. It could even be Ortagus — who knows!
So far, we only know that Cameran Eubanks is on the roster sometime in the future of Season 25. We won’t get a Flashback Friday host either, because The View will be celebrating Whoopi Goldberg’s birthday instead.
When is The View on? How to watch The View Season 25:
If you want to watch The View online, all you’ll have to do is head on over to ABC’s website and log in with your cable credentials. Don’t have cable credentials? There’s a fix for that too: you’ll need to subscribe to a premium streaming service such as Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, Sling TV, FuboTV, or AT&T TV Now. You can watch ABC live on any of those services, or use the log-in credentials over at ABC’s website linked above.
