Just a week ago, there was news that Comedian Selvy, aka Mathias Correia, was hospitalized at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim. However, a few days later, again, news broke that he was doing just and recovering well.

On Sunday, Selvy was playing in his play “8 Dis” at Pai Tiatrist Hall in Margao when he began to feel nervous. He also mentioned having a toothache to the cast and crew. He went to South Goa District Hospital in Margao on Monday for a checkup. The physicians there informed him that his diabetes and hemoglobin level had significantly fallen, and they promptly forwarded him to GMC.

However, his child made an announcement that he was recovering. His diabetes was coming back to normal, but then again, his blood platelet count was yet to improve. He was not even in ICU and was actively responding to calls.

The chaos in the fraternity after the news gradually got put down. Everyone thought that it was a regular health problem, and he got treated. It was nothing to get worried about in people’s minds, but to our shock, he could not survive it.

Alas! the condition seemed to confound, and Selvy could not make it. Comedian Mathias passed away on 25th July 2022.
