Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera at Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

July 2024 · 8 minute read

Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, and more lent their vocal chops to Saturday night’s 36th Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony held at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.

Swift had all eyes on her as she opened the in-person event, which went virtual last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, with a rendition of Carole King’s co-written song Will You Love Me Tomorrow.

The 31-year-old singer’s moving performance served as the induction of King into the Hall Of Fame who had previously presented her with the Artist of the Decade award at the 2019 American Music Awards

Taylor’s show-stopping performance look included a black lace catsuit with hints of sparkles, and black heeled booties which showed off her svelte frame.

Her golden locks were left down in soft waves and she wore a light face of makeup which included a gentle smokey eye and a pink lip.

The performance was full of heart and admiration for the 79-year-old singer whose music she grew up listening to.

And though she did put her own spin on the song — which was written by she and former husband Gerry Goffin and performed by The Shirelles in 1960 — the performance was enough to move Carole to tears.

She pranced around the stage in her eye-catching look and did some verses with her microphone in the stand before working the room with a handheld mic.

As the camera panned to her she reportedly wiped tears from her eyes and gave an emotion-filled nod of approval.

After her performance, Taylor officially inducted King into the Hall Of Fame for the second time.

She was previously inducted in 1990 for her songwriting achievements alongside Gerry Goffin.

Only two other women have snagged the honor of being twice-inducted, including Stevie Nicks and Tina Turner — who also received a dual induction at the 2021 ceremony.

‘Thank you for carrying the torch forward, Carole said to Taylor in her induction speech.

She continued to say: ‘You know I’m kind of a hermit, to come out and see old friends and new, and all of you here tonight, to welcome all of the inductees, it’s unbelievable.

‘I keep hearing it, so I guess I am going to have to own it, that today’s female singers and songwriters stand on my shoulders.’
