Joseph R. “PapJoe” Palmiero
Age 92 of Deerfield Beach, FL, formerly of Plum, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9, 2022, surrounded and comforted by his family. He was born in Braddock on March 4, 1930 to the late Teofilo and Nicolina (Tedesco) Palmiero. Joe was born and raised in Braddock. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served during the Korean War. He went on to work as a Machinist at Mesta Machine in Homestead for over 25 years. Joe was an avid bowler and golfer and enjoyed traveling with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Gorman) Palmiero; children, Andrea Jo (Tom) Turka, Joseph Palmiero, and Mary Jo (Robert) Culbertson; step-children, Lisa (Robert) Kane, Kristin (Mark) Nordstrom; brothers, Frank Palmiero and Nicholas Palmiero; grandchildren, Stephanie (Doug) Vigano, Andrew Turka, Sean Palmiero, Nicholas (Nikki) Palmiero, Theodore (Christy) Jakubowski, Elizabeth (Will) Pinachio, Laura (Cody) White; step-grandchildren, Charles (Elizabeth) Kane, Jessica (Alan) Marx, Brian Leibowitz, Michael Zeff, Jennifer Zeff, and Cierra Gallo; also survived by 10 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren. Joseph was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Marie Palmiero; brother, John Palmiero; step-children, John Gallo and Elizabeth Zeff; step-grandchildren, Eric Jones and April Zeff. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 12, 2022, 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747). Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernadette Church-Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:15 am. Interment to follow at Plum Creek Cemetery.
