It’s time again for children to say goodbye to summer break and hello to another year of school.
To make sure students are prepared to start the school year on the right foot, volunteers, organizations and others have organized back-to-school events. These events will feature free haircuts, backpacks, school supplies, vaccines, food, hygiene bags, physicals and more.

Duval County
July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. | A free “Health and Wellness Fair” will be hosted by Florida Blue River City and PROTalks on Saturday, July 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature activities, school supplies (while supplies last, limit 3 per household), free giveaways, health screenings, community resources and more! Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. | There will be a free Back-to-School Bash at the St. Johns Town Center on Aug. 6. Regreso a La Escuela | Back To School event at Chucke E. CheeseAug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. | First Coast Villains alongside Hair Mechanix is hosting its 3rd annual Back-to-School Bash on August 13 at Hair Mechanix Mandarin. The event will feature free haircuts and school supplies for children ages 5 to 18. Hotdogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks will also be available. NOTE: Free haircuts and school supplies will be first come, first served.

Clay County
Aug. 1 – 12 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. | The Department of Health in Clay County will hold its annual Back to School Immunization Drive Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., August 1-12 at the Clay County Fairgrounds. Free vaccinations include measles, mumps, rubella, polio, chickenpox, and hepatitis B. Click here for more information.
Students under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian and have all current immunization records and a photo ID.
July 30 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Mercy Support Services, alongside Saved 2 Serve & Seeds of Love, is hosting a back-to-school bash on July 30. The event will feature free backpacks with supplies, new clothing, a grocery distribution, bicycles and more! Location: 515 College Dr., Middleburg, FL 32068
