Classic 'rare' 1979 Ford Escort with only one owner available at historic auction

The vehicle was rarely used in bad weather and has only been driven 58,366 miles since it was produced in 1979.

Nicknamed ‘Bessie’ by the owner, the car had huge sentimental value to the owner and was only being auctioned due to his unfortunate death.

Chris Pollitt, head of editorial at Car and Classic claimed the model was “practical and ready to use” but would stir the attention of collectors and Ford fans.

He said: “With one owner, complete history and no questions, this is a very rare opportunity to own a truly original, unmolested Mk2 Escort.
